The Dufferin Inn is located on the West Side of Saint John and has been in business since 1993. The house was build in 1896 as the residence of a man named Judge John Babington MacAulay Baxter but has also had many other people move in since then. For instance, It is also known as the Historic Premier's mansion. It is now ran by Margret Begner as a bed and breakfast/ Inn and now features exquisitely-appointed, environmentally friendly accommodations for visitors. The Begners, -- Axel, a chef and pastry chef and Margret a dietician and hospitality teacher decided to restore the property to the graciousness of its era. They offer cooking classes for people who want to learn more about local cuisine and also wellness packages. Languages available are English, French, as well as German. It would be a good place to stay while in Saint John, especially for the fundy food festival. Mrs. Begner also helps out with the festival and food is a big part of their life at the Inn.
